Parker Steel on using Enmark Pay

Hi, I’m Sean Kaelber with Parker Steel Company. I’m the IT Manager for the company and we are a distributor of metric-sized metal products and services in the United States.

Choosing Enmark Pay

I’m always looking for ways to improve what we do and, hopefully in that process, simplify what we do. Our processes for our internal team as well as for our customers are part of that. So, Enmark Pay was a great fit for this, and it maintained all the work we’ve done to ensure security, to meet PCI compliance, and protect that customer’s financial data.

Implementing Enmark Pay

Yeah, I’ve got to tell you, I’ve implemented many payment processing systems over the years and Enmark Pay was the smoothest rollout and the quickest rollout that I’ve ever experienced. Having dealt with some very large companies, and some smaller companies, for the payment processing – just the process actually enabling it in Eniteo and then taking it to the next level of the PCI compliance, and normally spending a day or more to fill out those assessments for the PCI compliance and as simple as that was – since you guys [Enmark] hadle most of the PCI side of it, we were able to complete things and be up and running in a short amount of time, so it’s been great.

What do your customers think about Enmark Pay?

The funny thing is we first implemented the Enmark Pay solution and before we were even internally, technically going with our Go Live, we received payment of overdue payments for a number of customers that we had not expected. So, when their statements went out, they saw the link, they clicked it, they processed payments for things we were waiting for already. And sometimes we just have to process it for them. We understand there’s going to be some that are not as tech savvy and we are able to do that, luckily, within the system.

Some of them were excited about the change and the simplicity of it. Others were, well, it’s a change. But the vast majority of them just embraced it and even complimented the process as we went through it. As simple as it was to receive a lot of those payments, for them to complete it, and us to have the acknowledgement on our end make it a smooth process for them.

What do your employees think about Enmark Pay?

The salespeople, well, again, change is change. So sometimes there is some hesitancy there. The more we just kept walking them through it, standing over their shoulders, they did grasp onto – this is actually making our process easier, to the point that we don’t have to babysit it. And in the past, we’ve had prepayments but it had to pass hands before we completed them. But within Enmark Pay, passing that onto the customer to complete the payment and then the verification they have back in the backend system made it so simple. They were able to get the notification – hey, the prepayment processed and I can send this over to the warehouse now, rather than waiting and waiting or checking the next day. So, it really shortened the process for us.

On working with Enmark

One of the big things is just how important Enmark has proven that Enmark Pay is both a tool for Enmark as well as a tool for the customers. From the perspective of the cybersecurity side of things, protecting that financial data is always a key important piece. It’s constantly being threatened and the risk is growing. But the feedback that Enmark has taken to keep improving the process and the integration with the Eniteo backend has been phenomenal in making an easier process as well as a more efficient process.

We had a few requests of Enmark when it came to doing the rollout of the Enmark Pay solution. We started using it initially, but there were a few important pieces that were stopping us from doing some of our normal processes. We passed that along to the team and Enmark and you guys were able to keep in communication with us very quickly and roll these out, I would say in a relatively short timeframe, so that we were able to make those improvements that were necessary.
